ASEANAPOL Secretariat (AS) led by Executive Director David Martinez Vinluan, accompanied by AS Staff officers, namely: Assistant Commissioner Police Dr. Bakri Zainal Abidin, as Director for Police Services, Police Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Ngoc as Director for Plans and Programmes, Superintendent Azrul Hisham Mohd Shaffei, Head of Administrative and Technical Staff together with Deputy Superintendent of Police Suresh Subramaniam, Plans and Programmes officer 1 and Assistant Superintendent of Police Engku Nurul 'Aini Engku Malek, Plans and Programmes officer II, made the courtesy visit to His Excellency Mr. Naiyl M.Latypov, the Russian Federation Ambassador to Malaysia on 27 February 2024.
The visit was highlighted by the brief presentation of each other’s organizational mandate as well as exchanged ideas on how both can mutually help and assist each other’s goals and objectives in the spirit of effective partnership. Furthermore, both parties emphasized on the effectiveness and efficiency of the training courses, as well as conducting assessment and capacity building development which is tailored to the requirement of AMCs. His Excellency Mr. Naiyl M.Latypov highlighted Russia’s willingness to support the Capacity Building/Training needs of the police officers in the 10 ASEANAPOL Member Countries.
ASEANAPOL Secretariat Executive Director David Martinez Vinluan expressed his profound gratitude to His Excellency Mr. Naiyl M.Latypova and his government for supporting the plans, programs and activities of the Secretariat for the benefit of the 10 AMCs.
The visit was indeed fruitful in harmonizing the future collaboration between both parties and looking forward for a brighter working relationship in the days to come.
